Listening to the last PSC evoked the same feeling that I had when the Mobile Tech Roundup Podcast finished. Sad day indeed but at least PSC continues with Ted, it's in good hands. Wishing you all the best for your retirement Steve.

Very sad for my ears, but absolutely delighted for you and your family. Thanks for your epic work over the years , back to the WinMo days for me. Always has fun transferring your videos to a SD card and watching in bulk on holiday. You've managed to bring countless joy and clarity over the years and I've enjoyed your hop to new platforms. Will keep watching the shorts. All the very best to you and the House of Litchfield

I've been following the podcast and your AAS
publications for the past 18 years. I am 32 now and all I have to
say is it has been a amazingly wonderful journey following your
world of tech. Have a wonderful retirement with your family

It's been a long journey through the technological revolution that has brought us these miracles in our pockets or holsters. Thank you for your work bringing each new iteration to our ears and eyes in podcasts and videos, whether all about series and PSC. Congratulations, have a long and happy retirement, may your travails be small and the joys be long. I'll miss your weekly chats but all good things must end sometime.

Bittersweet news as others have said, hope you have a long and wonderful retirement with your family and look forward to the occasional content on all the platforms moving forward. You've been a companion in my ears for many years of bike rides, walks, fixing cars and mundane jobs around the house, so many thanks for all the effort that I know must have gone into every one of those 864 shows.

Steve, a legend in tech departs, in my and many others tech world you were the go-to person as a very knowledgeable voice, I do understand your reasons to step back, nonetheless, it does sting a little when events like these come along. Wishing you and Mrs Litchfield all the very best for your hard-earned and well-deserved retirement, Mrs L deserves a medal as we all know how time-consuming your passion has been. Sincerely hoping we hear from you again from time to time.

Wow, I never even contemplated this, many congratulations Steve on a truly remarkable run. You've been there throughout my entire smartphone journey (back to the smartphones show) and I wish you all the best. Look forwards to you being a guest perhaps on other shows 🙂

Oh dear - very sad news. The Phones Show and PSC are the reason why so many of us in the community found each other and, in some instances, met each other in person. Truly the foundation of the UK Mobile Phone Scene.
Thanks for all your efforts over the years - it has been a pleasure appearing on some episodes of PSC. Hopefully we will hear you as an occasional guest on other podcasts!

Thank you Steve for so many years of great content, from 3lib through AAS, AAWP to PSC, you’ve been my go to for PDA and smartphone advice and content. Have a great retirement!

It is given to few to be able to say that they have made a real contribution and a difference. In my view you have used your learning, knowledge, enthusiasm, coupled with presentational ability, to do so. In the course of which you have educated, benefited and entertained a large number of people. Whatever you choose to do next, you have every reason to feel justifiably proud of your legacy.

This feels so strange. I've been following you since the Psion days as a geeky kid, messing about with a Psion 3A. I did my A level computer science project in EPOC back in 1998. My mobile tech habits have been inspired by watching your videos and reading your blogs. From the Nokia 7650, Nokia N95, iPhone, Windows Phone, Surface Duo 1 and 2 plus more
Loved reading AAS and AAWP blogsnas well as downloading then watching the early videos. It's ironic that I'm now approaching the age that you were when you started the podcast. I've been toying with the idea of doing tech videos on YouTube or recording my own podcast for years but just don't have the confidence to do it.
Thank you for all your efforts in producing so much content over the last few decades. Wishing you all the best with your retirement, hopefully you can come on as a guest on whatever form the future podcast takes.

I found out about the AAWP website through a discussion board. It was a camera review or comparison. I followed along after that because the camera reviews were consistent and seemed to punch above the rest. It became a challenge on XDA to see if someone could beat the auto settings by using manual or whatever and come up with better looking photos. I like this phone, oh no Steve's panned the camera. What do I do now sort of thing. Wanted to get an Xperia and every time I'd put it off because Steve said no. After waiting a year, I ended up with the K zoom which was a better choice.
It wouldn't be until a year or so after that I discovered there actually was a PSC podcast and then it became a mission to listen to the old shows and get a feel for the show. I'd definitely agree there was a community building aspect here missing in other shows on the subject. Breaking away from the old broadcast model with passive listeners. I've never seen a community this dedicated to phone cameras and what was possible. Thanks for the show and the great ideas over the years.

Thank you for the extraordinary contribution you have made over so many years. Your commitment to quality, detail and consistency over such an extended period of time has meant that your body of work really stands alone in tracking the development of one of the most transformative bits of tech of the last 30 odd years: the smartphone. It has been my 'go-to' for as long as I can remember whenever I needed a genuine, in-depth and thoroughly researched view on the reality of the smartphone experience.
Quite apart from that professional achievement, what you and Ted (and all your wonderful guests) have created over the years is that rarest of things in the publishing industry: a media channel which has a genuine sense of community around it. That's testament to the generous spirit in which you've approached PSC and it shines through. I'm going to miss hearing the two of you chatting away each week in my podcast player!
Very best wishes for whatever comes next in your thoroughly deserved retirement and thank you again!

17 years? It's a lot longer than PSC alone Steve - I still have my Palmtop magazines boxed up in my spare bedroom somewhere, so I've probably been 'following' you since the early-mid 90s' and my first Psion. That's 30+ years in my book so well done, best wishes for a long retirement, and thanks for all the fish!

Anyone who has ever tried to do a podcast knows that it is such a commitment. I know there are more times than I would like when I can't make the appointed time with Kev Wright. So thanks for all the time Steve, the great entertainment and for years of just being there. Palmtop magazine has already been mentioned but once upon a time I bought one of your Psion programs, and I have kind of followed you ever since through AAS, AAWP, even All About Meego at one point. My only objection is "nearly 64", speaking as a nearly 65 year old, I do think maybe you could wait a bit! But seriously, best wishes for all you do in the future and thank you for everything
Jon Trimmer
Sad to hear this but very well deserved and a big thank you for everything. I'm pretty sure yours was the first phone related YouTube channel I watched and PSC was certainly the first podcast. Best of luck with the retirement, enjoy it!

Sad news indeed, but not unexpected. Thanks for all the wonderful memories and invaluable pearls of wisdom. Have a great retirement, though I expect we have not heard the last from the incomparable Mr. Litchfield.

Best wishes Steve and thank you for many years of reviews. Still using my Duo 2 with fond memories of the Nokia and Microsoft phones I discovered thanks to your reviews.
Javed Ahmed
We're gonna really miss hearing your voice on the podcast, Mr. Litchfield. Here's hoping you get on, every now and then, and grace our ears with your wry humor, and edified take on all this mobile computing.
