Submitting content to PocketInfo
Thanks for taking an interest in the PocketInfo project!
We're always on the lookout for interesting databases, spreadsheets, agendas,
multimedia, etc. as long as they're of interest to a wide variety of palmtop
computer users across the world. Where your information is used on the site,
we're happy to provide a hyperlink to your web page or email address if
requested.
In assessing whether your information is suitable for
PocketInfo, we ask ourselves:
- Is it of general interest? (e.g. so "Fish species of
the Nile" wouldn't get a look in here!)
- Is it relevant to people in other parts of the world?
(not essential, but it helps! If you do submit something that's
country-specific, at least make sure it covers the capital city or the whole of
that country and that english-speakers can grasp most of the content without
need for a translator!)
- Is it time-independent? (e.g. anything that's only
valid for a season, such as Sporting calendars, would be too much work to
maintain. Think of the nightmare of dozens of sports in dozens of countries,
all with their own annual schedules! The exception to this are events which are
truly international and of MAJOR significance, e.g. Football World Cup)
- Is it of a reasonably small size? (e.g. anything larger
than about a Megabyte is a no-no, for reasons of bandwidth, download time and
storage considerations on a mobile device - unless we're talking about
video clips or it's of considered worth or interest - contact me first!)
