Official Attractions, A-M - Official Attractions, N-Z - 'Free' ideas

It's all very well having lots of official attractions, but visits get very expensive, very quickly. On this page, I'll look at some of the free alternatives. If you can add any ideas, drop me an email: steve.litchfield AT ukonline.co.uk

Museums

Since the government helpfully changed the way museums operate, entrance to most, if not all, is now free. And, far from being dusty and boring places, most museums are now child friendly and very interesting, with plenty of interactive activities. e.g. in the photo below, children can experience life as a Victorian child, with old style desks and slates.

Parks

Many local parks now have free paddling pools and very inexpensive 'crazy' golf courses. Throw in the cycle ride there, a football or frisbee and you've got yourself a free day out for any number of children.
